Holiday Spirit Week this week: 
Thursday: Santa’s Workshop (Dress up like an elf, reindeer, snowman, etc.)
Friday:  Ugly Sweater Day (Wear you favorite Ugly Holiday Sweater) 

Clubs:
Pioneer’s Red Cross Club will be hosting a canned food drive.  Donations will start Today, December 4th and run until TODAY Wednesday, December 13th.  Collection boxes are in student services.  All donated cans will be given to the Second Harvest Food Bank.  Please help support!

College and Career:
UC Monterey Bay and several California State Universities have extended their application deadline. Take a look at the Family Connections section in Naviance for more information.

Missed the deadline to apply to a CSU? You still have a chance.
Some CSU campuses remain open to applications after the November 30th priority application deadline. This includes several impacted campuses. The campuses that remain open are:
Impacted Campuses – Deadline Extended to December 15th
• Humboldt
• East Bay
• Monterey Bay
• Sonoma (will stay open until December 18th)

Non-impacted Campuses – Deadline may extend beyond December 15th
• Bakersfield
• Channel Islands
• Dominguez Hills
• Maritime
• San Francisco
• Stanislaus

Seniors, if you are planning on attending college (4 year or community), or even undecided about what you plan on doing next year, then you should complete the FAFSA or Dream application. It is free, and good for the entire year.  Cash for College Event, TONIGHT December 13th from 3pm-7pm in the library.  Financial Aid experts will be available to help you complete the FAFSA or Dream application. Spanish language translation will be available.
Please see your counselor for a list of information you will need.

Are you interested in pursuing a degree in art, multimedia, fashion, marketing, design, animation, film production, gaming technology or culinary arts? Two private colleges will be presenting on these fields of studies and more. The Art Institute of California-San Francisco will be here this Thursday during flex. Sign up on Naviance or see Mrs. Madrigal in the College & Career Center.

Athletics:
Track & Field meeting for all students interested in participating this year, Friday at lunch in the gym.

All interested in playing Girl’s Lacrosse this year, very important meeting THIS Thursday (12/14) at lunch in Room 307.

Performing Arts:
The Winter Instrumental Music concerts are on 12/14 (choir and strings) and 12/15 (band). Come join us at 7 PM in the PAC for an evening of music put on by the wonderful students in the music department.

Auditions for Guys and Dolls will be Mon/Tues, 12/18 & 19 @7pm in the PAC. Auditions are open to the whole student body.

Academics:
Attention Juniors! The local Rotary chapter is looking for Pioneer juniors to apply to the The Enterprise Leadership Conference (ELC). ELC is designed to help you develop strong leadership and presentation skills. It is an innovative, informative and interactive experience that provides a strong foundation for college business courses. In this comprehensive introduction to developing a business plan, students are challenged to be visionary, creative, analytical, and competitive as they devise viable business opportunities in a team environment.

Pioneer High School is pleased to announce the launching of this year’s “Help a ‘Stang” Peer Tutoring Program in the Library /Media Center after school until about 4:00 pm. The following are the current tutors available.  Please see Ms. Rosales if you have any questions.
