Wiebke Michels teaches Spanish at Pioneer. She earned her MA in the Arts of Teaching with Majors in Spanish, Educational Studies and Physical Education at University of Hamburg/Germany in 2002. From 1999 to 2000 she studied at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Instituto Nacional de Educación Física (INEF) in Spain. Before starting her Masters program at University of Hamburg she also studied at Escuela Oficial de Idiomas in Madrid while at the same time working as a nanny for a Spanish family.

She received her California teaching credential in Spanish from San Jose State University in 2005 and completed the German credentialing program for Spanish and Physical Education in 2007. She has taught in Germany as well as in California before she started to teach at Pioneer in 2007. Her hobbies include windsurfing, hiking, winter sports, biking, swimming, and cooking.
